Beginning and Ending are the satellite crossing the exact geometric horizon (0° elevation), the standard rise/set convention. Once the countdown to Beginning reaches zero, it reads "Rising now" until the satellite has actually climbed to about 3° elevation, at which point the card switches to "Already up" — a practical margin, since contacts right at the exact horizon are rarely usable anyway. Nothing to do with daylight or eclipse. Azimuth is given as a compass bearing (e.g. "142° SE") to look toward; elevation is how high above the horizon. Times shown are your browser's local time and UTC.
Map & Ground Track▾
Click the map to set your location (green marker). After tracking a satellite, its ground track, current position, and radio-horizon footprint appear here too.
Ground track and position use real SGP4 orbit propagation from the satellite's current orbital elements (TLE) — accurate to typically within a few km, degrading over days/weeks as the TLE ages. Frequencies come from this app's own admin-maintained catalog, not the TLE, and may lag real-world changes.
