Band Probability Est. Signal Reliability MUF Noise

This is a simplified model, not a full VOACAP-style prediction. MUF uses the standard secant law (MUF = critical frequency ÷ sin(takeoff angle)) with hop geometry from a flat-earth approximation (300km virtual F2 height, ~4000km max single hop). Reliability follows the real, standard FOT (Optimum Working Frequency) definition — FOT = 0.85×MUF is usable ~90% of days, and MUF itself is usable exactly 50% of days by definition, which is what the Reliability curve is built on. Critical frequency, noise, and absorption use calibrated heuristics tied to today's live solar flux, not a full ionospheric model — treat results as a planning estimate, not a guarantee. Click a row for the full breakdown, including takeoff angle, hop count, and recommended modes.
